The Firs is a family owned business operating in the residential and dementia care sector. The Firs are proud to provide first class long and short term care for the elderly.

At The Firs you’ll be met by friendly, highly trained staff who are dedicated to ensuring you feel welcomed into our homely community. Our aim is to encourage independence, preserve dignity, protect privacy and allow freedom of choice for all our residents.

What we provide

For residents of The Firs, you can rest assured that you will be cared for by a friendly and highly trained team, all of which receive specialist ongoing training and have a sound understanding of care and best practice. The Firs prides itself on ensuring your care will be like home from home.

Dementia Care

We understand that those suffering with dementia need a safe, comfortable and stimulating environment. We provide care that offers choice and is tailored to individual ability, goals and aspirations. By nurturing a compassionate and trusting relationship, we support our residents by giving the highest possible quality of care.

Residential Care

Residential Care is 24 hours a day security and support, as well as all activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, mobility and taking of medication. The Firs is supported by the local district nursing team.

Respite Care or Short term Care

Respite Care, or short term care, is for those who wish to stay with us on a non-permanent basis for reasons such as recuperation following a stay in hospital or a main carer may be on holiday. Respite care can also be used as a ‘trial visit’ to ensure that the home is right for an individual on a long term basis.
